Can a carpet company replace the carpet in my apartment without notifying the leasing office?

Sara D asked:

I need to get an 11 x 9′9 section of carpet replaced because there are some small holes and a bleach spot. Are carpet companies allowed to replace the carpet without notifying the leasing office. If so, how much do you think a section this big would cost?

You will have to notify the leasing office because most places have a certain set of colors/textures/types they allow for carpeting. BridalBiz

Any alteration to the property must be approved by the landlord. It is up to you to get this approval.

    Cost….around $500. reenzz

Of course they need to inform the office. They are removing their property. They can not just cut up their carpet and dispose of their property without their permission. The odds are that the apartment will require the entire carpeting to be replaced anyway, you don’t just cut holes in the carpet and patch it up. The entire unit is usually one piece of carpet.
