You will probably have problems with this.. but attempt if you can the principles shown below:(or any part of it)

The best way to always treat any kind of stain is to catch it immediately so it doesn't had time to make a permenant stain.

Soak the spot first in cold water. Just leave it in the basin for several hours if needed. Do not use warm or hot water when dealing with any kind of stain. Heat will set the stain.

If the cold water alone does not remove the blood, then add about 1/4 cup hydrogen peroxide to the cold water and let that set. Test a small area on the comfortor first. Peroxide is a bleach and can cause some discoloring. You may need to add more peroxide if necessary.

Finally empty the sink and refill with 1/3 cup vinegar and cold water. The vinegar will rinse all the peroxide out. Do not dry the comforter in the dryer. If all the blood has not been removed (you may have some hiding in the pile) it will pull the blood to the surface and set the stain. norman7774

Laminate flooring comes either glue down or click lock which "floats" on the floor and needs no gluing.
Both products require a solid surface such as a wood or concrete flooring and won't work over carpeting. Archer

Take a clean paint roller and roll across the wet area. It will help soak up the water. Once you have up as much of the water as you can get up get some air moving on it. I recommend a box fan. § 20 and a penny §

Why out padding under it at all ? The pad doesn't do nothing but break down the carpet. That is why you will never find padding under carpeting in a store. harbo

I have a Hoover shampooer- Ive had it for about 9 years, and it is the best thing my husband ever bought me (sad isn't it?) I can spot clean spills the kids put on the floor, or clean the whole room- I clean the car, sofas, cushions from the chairs- its easy to use,convenient- I don't have to go to the store to rent one- I use it the first couple of minutes after I notice a stain from the kids, and the stain comes right out- it doesn't sit around and set in while I go to the store, rent the machine and hook it up. If I added up the cost of renting vs owning each time I used one, it's no comparison- buy one- I'm sure the technology has improved over the last 9 years, and yes, I've removed plenty of pet stains too... atyrdmom

Resolve is good. Other than the purple food coloring you've got an oily element to deal with, such as the butter or shortening from the frosting.

to rlucas: would ink remover work on food color? (I hadn't thought of that) Dixie Woman

I have been SO disappointed with mine. Mine is a Bissell and it cost around $200 and doesn't even to HALF the job that the rental ones or the professionals do. I ended up getting a little green machine to do spills and spur of the moment stains, and having stanley steamer...or another carpet cleaner come in twice a year that moves the furniture for me. They make the carpet VERY wet...and honestly, I just wish I wouldn't have spent the money on it...mine's going on ebay! lol...so if you want a good deal check there. I have berber carpet in our den and it is AWFUL with that...I have new carpet I refuse to use it on. They jsut don't have the scrubbing power and they clog and get icky fast...and I have to empty the reservoir over and over...don't do it...pay the $150 to have someone come in and do it. It's not worth the time and trouble and money!
I do NOT think they work! claireandmouse
