there are few ways, but can be bad or good. up to you to decide which to use which ifind useful.... issue a direct warning to the dog to stay clear of the rug. that means no going near the rug area unless u permit him to go near it. meaning "saying in a firm tone and manner 'NO!' to the dog whenever he's near the rug."

Secondly, get better chew toys. Depending on ur chew toy, sometimes he will get bored from chewing the same type of toys that leads to chewing the rug. But always change ur chew toy like 3 days or maybe 2 days once. And also i dun know whether is this true or not, certain dogs likes certain types of chew toys. bone figured chew toy is among the favourites but have a variety of chew toy for him to chew on.

Thirdly, buy a small palm size rubber ball, those that u let infants play with, and they throw the ball around chasing after the ball, place it there for the dog to play around and maybe chew around also. But wash the ball thoroughly once u bought it and maintain the washing part once a day or once in a few hours.

Dogs generally dislike citrus. Go to your local Petco and ask a sales technician where to find those prodcuts you are looking for. Make sure they know its wrong also. Give them a tap on their mouth( coming from below) saying NO and be stern. The other question i have for you is does she get a alot of exercise. Sometimes it is boredom that causes dogs to chew on things. A tired dog is a happy dog. If you have any other questions let me know.

Get some apple bitter (sold in spray at Petco, Pet'smart ect...) Spray on rug works on some dogs not all. Get a small bottle and try it! I also would do the water gun trick, I know most people use this for cats but anytime my dog starts to do something she should't I would spray her with a water gun, now when I pick it ups she just stops and finds something else to do. Good Luck
