Wade asked:

Last year my wife and I bought a new home. We came home from Christmas vacation to find that there was a leak in a pipe that seeped under the laminate flooring in the kitchen and ruined the carpet in the living room.

My question… I need to replace about 15-20 feet of laminate wood flooring and about 175 sq feet of carpet. Do you know how much either one will cost?

Thanks!

I always do that myself. It is not that difficult. And much cheaper than paying the overpriced job. paulkun

Laminate usually runs around $5 a square foot installed, but such a small job, you may get charged a minimum charge. Typically around 125 in labor, unless you find a small store that does all the work in house. Carpet you can figure about 2.20 a sq. ft installed with pad. You may run into the same thing, with the minimum charge. You do know that your homeowners insurance will cover this, right? clyde s
