I know what you mean. I am in that situation everytime my dog dribbles on the carpet. Do not spend a ton of money on carpet cleaner solutions, or carpet steamers. The solution is easier than you think. It is not even industrial. All you need to do is to go to the Grocery Store and purchase a Gallon of "WHITE VINEGAR" to keep on hand. Put the proper amount onto the carpet, either by spraying it or pouring it...and PRESTO !!! No more smell. The fact that you have to use it every day just points to its lameness. You can try an enzymatic pet odor remover as well.
