We just bought a home with a plush white carpet. The previous owner had a large rug on the carpet. When she removed the rug, it left a large, yellow stain that I presume is either rubber or glue. Any suggestions (especially real-life experience) with removing this type of stain? Thanks!

The rug does lays down and doesn’t roll back up, it just keeps “crinkling” up and Ill pull it to straighten it out and 5 min. later its all wrinkly again……it lays on carpet, what can I do?

to remove the spots, I apply some solutions which are available in the market.But it removes the ink spots and can’t remove the turmeric spots on carpet.Is there any simple way to remove the turmeric spots from the carpet?

I just ripped up a carpet in my new apartment. Underneath the carpet foam was hardwood flooring which was covered in sticky black gooey stuff. It seemed like old glue. I was able to get it up by rubbing it with my finger, but who wants to do that to the entire floor?!? When I tried wetting it, it just turned more sticky….it was like it was water resistant or something! Any suggestions?

I’m thinking of making a scratching post for my cats, say a diameter of 50 cm, and about half an inch thick and I’m wondering how to carpet the top platform without getting lots of folds in the carpet when I fold it around the shape.

I built a speaker box, but now the last step is to carpet it. I have the materials, but I dont know how to make the corners look the clean. The box is basically a rectangular prism, but the sides are on the outside of the box like a cap. (they are as big as the max dimensions of the box. I say this because most people build their box so their sides are “within” the box, as opposed to mine which are put on the outside and are the last pieces to be glued to the box)

I am NOT carpeting the sides, but painting them to add some contrasting color. So, how do I make the seam between the faces of the box and the sides look nice?

My dad said to just wrap the fabric around the edges so it goes inside the box, then attach the sides. But, I feel that this will compromise the structural integrity of the box. It has to be strong for two 12 inch subwoofers.

My new home has forest green carpet, white walls and honey wood cabinets and accents throughout. I don’t want to paint so I will keep the white walls. I am a single middle aged man. Does anyone have suggestions on a 3rd or 4th color for the couches rugs and accessories.

A washer leaked and it made it to the carpet. Now it smells soured and nasty. How can I get that smell out. It smells like the padding below the carpet as well as the carpet itself.

I am wanting to remove a really old carpet from a floor that has wood underneath. The wood is in OK shape and I would like to not have to refinish it right now. The carpet is coming up fine but the backing is still glued to the floor. Does anyone have any suggestions to remove it other than lots of scraping.
