I have a dog that is past the teething stage. And she keeps chewing on all of my huge area rugs. We have bought her several chew toys (which she does chew on) and even those kong toys that challenge the dog to get at the food (because we were told boredom may be the cause of her chewing), but still she chews on our rugs. I was told that if I catch her doing it —to say ‘No’ and then give her a chew toy so she understands—but she NEVER chews on the rugs when I am watching. I really want to keep my rugs out (we tried putting the rugs away for awhile) because the house is all hardwood floors and is cold in the winter without rugs and I LOVE my rugs. She just ruined a new rug yesterday—she chewed a huge hole in the middle of the rug. She is a good dog otherwise, we bring her to obedience classes and everything. What can I do about my rugs?? PLEASE HELP!!
