I recently painted my small full bath a yellow color. I have a brown bath fitter tub/shower and light hardwood floors in the bathroom. I have no idea what color bath rug to buy. The toilet and sink are white as is the trim. Suggestions?
I just put in the vanity and it looks great. Now all I need is the rug. I like the idea of blue and someone I talked to suggested green. Thoughts/

Is it possible to convert a pre-installed home carpet to an area rug?

Gilbert asked:

I have a carpet that I am having removed in order to install hardwood floors. The carpet itself is only about a year old and still in very good condition. (If we didn’t have pets we would probably keep it.) We have another house we would like to put the carpet in, but would only like to do so in the form of an area rug.

Is this kind of transplant possible? Has anyone ever done this? What are some other options?

Thanks!

How can I clean carpet residue off of hardwood floors?

webgal79 asked:

I just purchased a 45-year-old home and the previous owners installed carpet over the hardwood floors. They ripped it up before selling it to us and the carpet pad left residue in high traffic areas. It looks like the floors have stains in some of those high-traffic areas as well. Does anyone have any suggestions as to the best way of cleaning this? We don’t have much time to do extensive work on the floors before moving in because we also have to paint all the interior walls. Any suggestions?

My carpet is a mess. We’re replacing it with hardwood floors but not until next summer. In the meantime, I was thinking about putting rugs on top to cover the stains, but is it tacky? If so, what would you suggest I do instead?

I have a 2 bedroom apartment with hardwood floors. My roommate and I have started keep really different hours, so I’m trying to find ways to keep the noise down for both our sakes. We have rugs in all the common areas, but we can’t think of anything else to reduce the noise.
