Ms Cool asked:

We just bought a home with a plush white carpet. The previous owner had a large rug on the carpet. When she removed the rug, it left a large, yellow stain that I presume is either rubber or glue. Any suggestions (especially real-life experience) with removing this type of stain? Thanks!

I’ve been leaving a damp cloth over it to absorb. I don’t know the exact fabric or material of the rug. It happen to land on a lighter-color stripe.

I put a rug down in my apartment kitchen, I did use a protector that said it wouldn’t stain floors. Well, my lynolium (sp) is now stained a medium yellow and I don’t want to have to pay for damages when I move out in 2 weeks. I’ve already tried a mild bleach solution, it didn’t work, but I didn’t leave it on for very long. Any solutions?

Someone spilt a smoothie drink on the carpet and left it overnight. I tried to remove it the next day with washing up liquid and water. At first it seemed to have worked but now it is becoming more obvious. Any suggestions?
