how can i vacuum a short pile cheap rug that attracts my hair?

aside from getting on hands and knees with my lint roller that is! I am never getting this kind of rug again!
actually, I should say “clean” – not shampoo, but get off the dirt and etc. The vac works a bit if I press hard but it will not get up my hair!! I hate this rug!

There was water spilled all over my carpet the other day, and didn’t have time to suck it up with the carpet shampooer. And, it had a terrible strong mildew smell. I shampooed it 3-5 times yesterday using a carpet shampooer. And, sucked it out of the carpet really good. However, I can still really smell it! Is it okay to shampoo again? Is there some other technique that works for mold in carpet? Thanks!

Lets put it this way— when we got my dog, Bessie, last March… she was only semi house trained.
I’ve tried putting stuff on the pee stains, but it doesn’t work. We have a Kirby vacuum too, so we can shampoo the carpets.
