What can we use besides a rug to keep the bed from moving on the hard wood floor?

xxkittenluvxx143 asked:

When we get on and off the bed, make the bed, anything… it moves accross the room. We are afraid of the scratching on the freshly polyurathaned floors and it frankly impedes certain activities.

Is there anything that we can purchase at Lowes or Home depot or whereever which we can put under the wheels or legs of the bed to keep it from moving? We can’t get a rug because his cat unfortunately is drawn to marking carpets even tho he is neutered.

Thanks for any suggestions

Have you thought about just getting the felt pads to put under the feet of the bed, then it won’t matter if it moves or not. If that won’t work, then you could get the the rubber beaded shelf liner lookin’ stuff and just cut out some squares of that, and put those under the feet. It is doesn’t compeletly stop the bed from sliding, it should at least help Regan

Maybe try cutting some rubber innertubes into a square or circle and putting them under the legs of the bed. Have fun with those certain activities. paul67337

You can buy non-slip mats, of various sizes, these are mats that look like that strange foamy plastic stuff that covers apples to protect them from damage, only obviously the mat I’m talking about is flat and not so much stretchy, they come in different colours, but mainly black, they are also used on car dashboards to stop things slipping. So I suggest you buy enough to go under each leg of your bed. I think a well known car accessory shop sells them, and the £1 per item shop does. geoffrey_0007

Ask for Rubber Furniture Coasters at Lowe’s or Home Depot. Jumper8254us

Like the last guy, I recommend the rubber furniture leg coasters too. I;ve bought them at a lot of places : Home Depot, Ace Hardware, K-Mart. They usually come in brown or white and are square or round. You can also get round rubber discs that peel and stick to the bottom of the furniture legs — same place as the coasters. I think 3-M is one manufacturer of them. c_kayak_fun

Most hardware stores sell small, rubber adhesives (castors) that you stick to the bottom of furniture legs. The also work great on tables, chairs, pianos, or anything else that can slide around and damage flooring. They come in a huge variety of shapes, sizes and widths. See the link below to get some ideas.
