What is the best Carpet Cleaning machine to set up a business with?
I am starting a carpet cleaning business and am stuck with regards to which machine to buy, they all seem to be about as good as each other!!! Can anybody give me some hands on feedback and advise as to the best one available in the UK??
Also if you have any honest feedback about the carpet cleaning industry that would be great too?
Thank you.
When I say carpet cleaning, I mean extraction cleaning – Ashbys, Prochem, Altec etc thanks.

My wife said nobody can clean a carpet like a Lesbian . brownstarfish90

Vax seem to be the most used – they’re easy to use and last a long time.
But i’m not sure if now’s the best time to be starting a business, with the economy being so unstable. My friend has been a plumber for years, and always done realy well for himself, but recently nobody is repairing stuff – they’re just trying to live with it.
Good luck though Uggle
I used to do this about 10 years ago. I started out with a Spirit 1 which is a fairly small but powerful (and noisy) machine. Back then it cost me £600 and came with some basic attachments. If you needed an attachment for doing staris and so on these were readily available (about £50 per attachment).
I got most of my work from leaflet drops (about 2% hit ratio) and ads in shop windows and a big sticker on the car. I did get a lot of recommendations which was nice.
It IS hard work – on your hands and knees scrubbing away (the machine only does so much). The money can be good though if you have enough work. Ian C
