What is the best way to stop my wool rug from shedding?
I purchased a beautiful wool rug last summer to put over my laminate flooring. It sheds like crazy, and we constantly have large tufts of wool floating about on the rest of the floor. Is there something I can do to stop the shedding? If not, will it eventually stop at some point? I’m starting to believe I purchased a 5×7 mistake!!

If the weaving is tight, it will stop shedding. If you can easily pull out an entire yarn the weaving is loose, and will shed and lose yarns forever..If the twist on the individual yarns is loose it will shed a lot until it becomes a lovely velvet texture, which is ok. A good wool rug can withstand a 100 years of constant use and still be beautiful. The first few years it will shed, and eventually lessen. If you really like the rug, give it time, and a vacuum. Emee
