If you can easily pull out an entire yarn the weaving is loose, and will shed and lose yarns forever..If the twist on the individual yarns is loose it will shed a lot until it becomes a lovely velvet texture, which is ok. A good wool rug can withstand a 100 years of constant use and still be beautiful. The first few years it will shed, and eventually lessen.
