Keith asked:

I paid $500 for medium quality 4×6′ hand woven wool carpets 5 years ago. On EBay, they now go for $250.

Has the market been flooded with the carpets or has interest in them dropped or is there too much competition from Turkey and India?
The carpets are from Iran, 100% wool and hand woven. No doubt about that.

The question is simply this: has the price dropped?

It’s very doubtful that the $250 rugs are true Persian rugs.

There’s a lot of polypropylene (Olefin) fiber, Persian lookalike rugs on the market these days. A true Persian rug’s fiber is wool.
